Transfer Students

Students Entering College for the First Time

Here in Coeur d'Alene, our students usually register for their core requirements (e.g., English, natural science, communications) at a local community college. The closest options are and the .

However, it's a good idea to talk to one of our advisors early to be sure the classes you take are the best ones for your transfer program. We are happy to sit down and discuss our programs with you, or correspond with you via phone or email.

North Idaho College Transfers

If you are planning on transferring to U of I Coeur d'Alene within the next two years, it's a good idea to come talk to one of our advisors, even if it's just your first semester at NIC. You can call and make an appointment with us. View the U of I CDA Advisors.

We have  in place with North Idaho College. An articulation agreement is an officially approved agreement used to assist students in taking the appropriate courses at a community college that will transfer for credit toward a bachelor's degree at the U of I. These agreements are designed to help students make a seamless transition when transferring to U of I. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

Concurrent Enrollment with NIC

NIC/U of I — If you plan on taking classes at both U of I and NIC in the same semester, you will want to apply for admission at both institutions. If you have financial aid from U of I, you will need to fill out a concurrent enrollment form each semester that you take NIC classes. For full-time financial aid, you will be expected to take at least 12 credits between the two institutions. Ask us for more details on the concurrent enrollment process.
